As we step into the new year, I’m truly honored to begin my role as WRA Chair for 2026. This is an exciting moment, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together!
First, a heartfelt thank you to Chris DeVincentis for leading our organization with such strength and passion in 2025. I also want to recognize the 2025 executive committee and the 2025 board of directors — your hard work set us up for success as we continue to focus on important initiatives and take on new priorities.
Our focus for 2026
This year, we’ll keep a strong focus on risk mitigation — protecting our brokers, members, volunteers and clients through:
- Legislative advocacy
- State-approved forms
- Legal resources like the WRA Legal Hotline
We’re committed to staying ahead of challenges and being proactive in everything we do.
Another priority is advocacy. Through the REALTOR® Party, our color is purple — not red or blue. Because homeownership concerns are bipartisan, our priorities for advocacy will focus on issues that impact homeownership. They affect every buyer, seller and property owner. Our mission is simple: protect homeownership for all.
Innovation in education
I’m also excited to explore new and innovative educational opportunities this year. In a world where technology — especially artificial intelligence (AI) — is changing so quickly, we need to ask the following questions:
- What do we need to learn?
- How do our members and brokers want to learn?
In 2025, we introduced the WRA Regional Summit event as well as a refreshed WRA Annual Convention format, and both were a big success. Expect even more exciting developments for WRA events in 2026!
Looking forward
I’m thrilled to work alongside our incredible WRA staff, the 2026 board of directors, and the 2026 executive committee: Shawna Alt, Chris DeVincentis, Lori Muller, Brian Slinkman and Angela Walters. Most of all, I’m looking forward to connecting with you — our members
— throughout the state this year.
